Symbolic Flowers

This is a typology series capturing varying flower types with the goal of capturing their details while bringing light to their symbolic meaning in a beautiful way. With each one being unique society has given each type of flower its own symbolic meaning. In order to bring light to and compare those differences; form, color, beauty, texture, and hidden meanings, the photographs are shot with a solid black background allowing the flower, subjects, to be brought forward and exaggerated. 

These images are created to enhance the details of the flowers individually and as a collective group to showcase their individuality. They are presented as these bold, colorful, strong organic forms to make them feel glamorized. Almost as though they are coming out of the frame and are so close you could touch them. In this style, they are depicted as strong and beautiful to enhance the idea behind their assigned symbolic meanings.
